Dear Valued Customer,
We realize the rate increase from the market conditions has potentially caused financial burdens for much of our customer base. After many discussions between City of Austell Mayor and gas system, it has been collectively agreed that effective immediately the rates will be revised to last month’s rate structure, therefore no rate increase will take place for the applicable billings starting on February 16, 2026.
For those who have already received their bill and made a payment, no action is required and a refund for the difference will be sent to the address on file. If you have received your bill and have not made a payment yet, please do not make a payment until the new bill statement is received with the revised therm rate. All other bills will be sent with the revised per-therm rate.
Again, nothing needs to be done by the customer. The Gas System will make all account corrections for you and refunds will be sent for the differences. We understand the gravity of this situation and value you as a customer and thank you for your understanding while we work through these unprecedented times.
